Holmes Murphy has partnered with Variety – The Children’s Charity in Iowa to present a specialized bicycle to Mason Hall of Ankeny. His diagnosis of Meningitis, Prematurity, Spastic Diplegic and Cerebral Palsy has rendered Hall unable to ride a standard bicycle safely. The partnering companies hope this donation will give him the opportunity to enjoy what makes him happy, spending time on his bike with family and friends.
“At Variety, we cherish childhood memories of bike riding and are excited for Mason to make his own memories. Every child deserves to ride,” said Sheri McMichael, Executive Director, Variety – The Children’s Charity. “We thank Holmes Murphy for their generous donation in making this specialized bike and a new way of mobility a reality for Mason.”
Variety has presented specialized bikes to children in the past through the organization’s Kids on the Go! program. Aimed at helping children with special needs gain mobility, confidence, freedom, and the chance to stay involved in community life, this program allows them to become physically independent.
“The team at Holmes Murphy is honored to have been able to bring joy to Mason through this contribution,” said Susan Hatten, Holmes Murphy, Sr. Consultant, Strategic Partnerships.
The bike Hall received is modeled after the one he has become familiar with during physical therapy sessions and comes with a helmet for added safety.
