We are looking to add a Placement Specialist to join our Property Casualty team in Waukee, IA, Kansas City, MO, or Sioux Falls, SD. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Independently perform the daily tasks required to efficiently manage placement of insurance for assigned Prospects.
- Schedule Opportunity Calls – Dictate Notes and post.
- Create Service Team document in preferred format and place in ImageRight.
- Pull 5500 Reports.
- Develop applications from raw data, such as current policies or specifications and information available on the internet.
- Prepare Broker of Record letters, NCCI requests, Loss Run request letters.
- Set up new prospects in the agency management system (AMS) and other appropriate software. Input policy information in AMS for smooth transition to the Client Experience Team.
- Prepare submissions to include applications and various support documents, including any Captive documents.
- Request and monitor process for the loss summary and experience mod forecast report gets completed.
- Participates in team meetings and initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide Placement Consultants required list of information, after comparing it to the information provided by the sales team.
- Create and set up schedules using Excel software. Which would include endorsements specific for the opportunity.
- Complete the TM Checklist while doing all steps necessary for new prospect set-up & handoff.
- Attach blank premium comparison to ImageRight.
- Order applicable underwriting reports as needed.
- Pull coverage forms from carrier sites.
- Research information in response to internal requests as needed.
- Develop/maintain effective communication and relationships with company underwriters and client experience team in order to build trust and write business. This includes meeting with underwriters when they visit the office.
- Assist with preparing coverage proposal and premium displays.
- Performs special projects and other duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of Property and Casualty Insurance industry.
- Basic understanding of various insurance policy types, including but not limited to: GL, Property, Package, Umbrella, Auto, etc.
- Detail orientation and problem-solving ability. Accuracy is a major component.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; customer service orientation.
- Experience with computer data entry required; working familiarity with AMS, Excel and Word and other company software.
- Proficient and knowledgeable on Inputs, updating, creation of proposals, creation of diaries, etc.
- High level of organizational ability; able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to perform simple to complex mathematic computations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability and willingness to consistently participate in internal and external educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of current insurance topics or relevant system improvements.
- Ability and willingness to pursue relevant designations and/or continuing education, as appropriate.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull objects.
- Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.
